MSc In Microelectronic Engineering
In meeting the industrial need for highly trained manpower in Microelectronic Engineering, CEDEC offers a quality mixed-mode course leading to the award of MSc in Microelectronic Engineering. This programme aims to provide an enhancement or specialist technical knowledge in strategically important areas such as analog, digital and mixed signal IC design which are relevant to current and future needs of industries. Students have the opportunities to learn recent development and state-of-art technologies of these subject areas through series of courses in the first semester, and culminating with 6-month dissertation project in the second semester. The dissertation can either be fully industrial based or in-house design projects. This programme is also designed in such way to allow both the practicing engineers and potential students to enroll in full-time basis.

- A Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.75.
- Other qualifications will be considered on case by case basis.
Applicants whose Bachelors degree is not from a university using English as a medium of instruction are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English by having attained one of the following:
TOEFL (paper based test) : A minimum score of 55
or
IELTS : Band 6.0 minimum
or
USM Intensive English Course : Level 4 minimum
This MSc course starts from 1st September and ends 12 month in the following year. Due to the high demand of this mixed-mode course, we advice intrested candidates to apply earlier, preferably by mid July of the year of entry.
